maskerade

These adorable glittered animal masks are from Erin Fetherston's Fall 2009 show, and I still can't get enough of them. They would make quite the chic costume or accessory to any party. Photo via Teen Vogue.

light & dark

I am swooning over Swedish fashion designer, Camilla Norrback's autumn/winter collection. At first glance, the styling entices with moody darkness. I am then overcome again with the cute girlish twist on things. Whether it's with pleated structure or simple dress silhouettes, the garments are gorgeous. Including a whimsical approach with her use of an owl wing pattern and owls sweater (which I must have!). And I always appreciate amazing design that utilizes innovative eco materials & resources throughout the process. Photos by Ann-Katrin Blomqvist.

wooden animals

Mix & match these creative shapes to form actual animals or imaginary ones. All of the legs, ears or antlers can be swapped around the animal families to possibly discover a new species. Who says these toys are just for kids? The moose is my favorite. Shop momoll for the set.

bedtime story

I've been looking for inspiration for some new bedroom decor lately... and I have found it! I was immediately drawn in by all the rich colors and opulent materials. I want to curl up in the lavish quilt and warm my feet in these velvet lined slippers. Very heavenly things from Toast house&home collection.

grocery shopping

Baguette, check. Milk, check...If you can't recall the rest of your list, the cute visual on your tote will remind you what to buy at the grocery store. Love this handmade designer bag sold at Makool Loves You.

to sir with love

As the party season starts to get underway, you may be wondering what "wow" fashion item you have to accent the evening with. The answer is this, the "Birthday Girl" necklace made of raw-cut silk charmeuse and a feather, will make the grand statement. Each gorgeous handmade necklace is from designer Joanna Baum of Sir boutique. I have the great fortune of being friends with the lovely and talented Ms. Baum. She's constantly coming up with something new, fresh & inspiring. I only wish I could pop by her Brooklyn boutiques anytime I wanted, to get dressed up in Sir, and then head out to a party! photo via the shop tart.
You can also find Sir's birthday girl necklaces at Lola in Berkeley.

halloween goes green

Even though these cute mask and tail combos are made for kids, I can't help but want them for myself too. Offered by Oeuf, a company that keeps design simple, clean and green. These costumes, as with all of Oeuf's knits are made using 100% alpaca. They have also partnered with women artisans from Bolivia. Read the story here. Trick or treat!

autumn acorns

I always cherish this time of year as I adore everything autumnal. Especially things of nature and cute crafts inspired by nature. Beauteous acorn & leaf photo above by lifelovepaper. And colorful felted wool acorns at felted's etsy shop.

rescue me

A good friend just brought this brand to my attention and I am certain these clothes were made to fall for. Doucette Duvall's collections have all the elements of beauty, combining gorgeous, fresh designs with using recycled, "rescued" fabrics. Their enticing styles of coats and dresses are what happy dreams are made of- filled with pretty textures, prints and a luxe palette. What I most admire is Stephanie Doucette and Annebet Duvall's hands-on and locally made approach, straight out of NYC...and then hopefully right into my wardrobe!
